Some Task Bar Hero (TBH) gear rolls a special Unique Modifier — a build-defining effect that changes how one of your class skills behaves. This page explains what unique items are, which classes they empower, how to obtain them, and how to judge their value on the Steam Market.
A Unique Modifier is an extra line of text on a piece of gear that alters a specific ability rather than just adding raw stats. Where a normal socket gives you “+X% Physical Damage”, a unique changes the rules — for example resetting a skill’s cooldown on kill, adding a bleed to a shot, or massively boosting a summon’s attack speed. Because they reshape a build, the right unique is often worth far more than its base stats suggest.
Uniques are tied to a class’s signature skill. A few representative effects:

Ask three questions before you spend: does the modifier match your active class and skill loadout, can you afford the grade you actually need (a unique on a skill you don’t use is wasted), and is the market price reasonable versus synthesising it yourself? A Sorcerer farming build, for instance, gains far more from a Hydra attack-speed unique than from a slightly higher raw-stat item.

What rarity do unique items start at?
Arcana. Common through Immortal versions of an item never carry the Unique Modifier.
Can I re-roll a Unique Modifier?
No — the unique effect is fixed to the item. You can still re-roll its Inscription socket stat via the Cube, but not the unique line itself.
